Music played from the iPhone that was plugged into the speakers. The lights were low, and boxes of Chinese take out and ice cream cartons were spread over the counters. Summer had just spent the last four hours crying and debating with herself over what she had, inadvertently, admitted to Nixon earlier that evening. Before everything came crashing down, they had made plans to go out for dinner, and come back home. But, since Summer's big mouth had to open and spill the secret she had been keeping to her fiance's brother, those plans had been kicked down the drain. After getting into an argument over instant message, the couple had decided to part their ways for the night. Nixon, rightfully upset, decided to hit up Jax and Violet's bar and spend the night with Max, his twin brother. And Summer? She was going to curl up on the couch, and hope to work through her emotions before seeing him the next morning.
The last hour had been spent crying endlessly to her favorite movie, Casablanca. She had watched the movie more than enough times to describe it backwards and forwards. Nix had watched it with her thousands of times, and not having him here, in their home, was hitting her harder than it should have. Sure, he had every right to be more than pissed at her, but there was nothing that could be done now. She was pregnant, and they were getting married. At least she hoped the latter was still true. Making her way into the bathroom, Summer turned the knob on the bath to begin running her water. Hot baths always helped her to relax, and she was definitely in need of it tonight. While she waited for the bath water to fill up, Summer removed and threw all of her clothes on the floor, leaving a path to the bathtub. Right before she was about to step inside, she heard a knock on the door.
Expecting it to be a neighbor, or her sister, Summer called out to the door and shouted, "I'll be right there!" and grabbed the white thick robe from the wall. Running towards the door, she stopped in her tracks when she saw that it was Nixon standing in front of her. Wiping her tears away, she opened the door, and let him in the house. "Babe, what are you...what are you doing here? I wasn't expecting you tonight." There was an obvious amount of tension between them, and she was confused as to why he was here. And how he could even be looking at her like he usually does. How could he not be yelling at her after he found out something so horrible? "Why aren't you with Max?"
