INTERVIEW 1 - late 2015 full name Hanna Natalia Abney  nickname Han age 18 hometown Cape May, NJ occupation Ink + Bone member  "So Hanna, with no H sorry for making that mistake earlier, we always here from the other girls but how did YOU get started in music?" Yeah, sorry it's just a huge pet peeve of mine when people misspell my name. My parents couldn't add an H to the end of my name like a normal person? Anyways, my grandma was a musician. She died when I was seven years old and my dad sort of hated the idea of music around that time. Music was prominent in his life - he met my mom through his own band but when she took off he stopped playing. Grandma dying was the final straw.  Your parents were influential to your career? Even through your mom took off and dad didn't approve of music?  I'm not really looking for sympathy here. Yes, my parents were influential on my music career. More so my dad. Also, don't say that my dad didn't approve of music. He came around when he saw that it was beginning to mean something more to me than just my shower head. My mom was a pianist and she passed the talent to me but I don't really care for the piano. I honestly don't want anything to do with my mom, so if we could please move on from this question.  Right, next question. How's the dynamic of the band? Is there any controversy being only considered 'back up?' Ew, I hate that word back up. Greer definitely made that up. She and Ursula are definitely the most prominent voices of the band but I think we all make a contribution. The band would fall apart without each member so fuck the whole back up stuff. INK + BONE We were your typical 'girl band' you could say. Studio days could be fun, except a lot of the times someone got offended that they weren't getting enough solo attention which seriously ridiculous if you asked me. I knew it was coming, the break up or the hiatus. All of our attitudes about the music had changed and starting this as young as we did it wasn't considered fun anymore. We had long nights of choreograph, after choreograph. Free time wasn't even something in our vocabulary anymore. They scheduled tour after tour - for those who haven't done show to show it's fucking exhausting. I'm barely 18 and I feel like I put at least 20 more years on my actual age. Except without the perks of screwing random guys and getting away with the little schemes. This band turned in to a chore. I couldn't make time for my friends and it was insanely dramatic. Like Greer? She's screwing our producer, gets away with it. Ursula and I go out one night and we're sent the nastiest, unprofessional email. It's just not worth my time anymore.  .................................................. ..................................................
