BENI I think we double booked our date. It's ok, we can try to do two dates at once.

R O S I E Haha - I actually have a company happy hour thing that night. Not as fun as it sounds. What about the next night?

BENI How did they manage to ruin happy hour? I can wait til the next night, no problem.

R O S I E They talk about the same things they do at the office - just in a different setting and too many bourbons. Ok. Move your calendar invite, I'll accept that one.

BENI So work in a bar, I see. If you need backup let me know. How are my calendar skills so far?

R O S I E Any excuse to agonize over it and put it on the company dime. I'll fair alright, always have before and then disappear when someone shatters the first glass. You've shown immense progress. I'm surprised you don't have one stacked with meetings or like, studio sessions. I'm not sure how that works?

BENI Do you like any of your colleagues? Now you can scare them with your stories about the city beyond midtown. I don't think you'd approve of my system. I used to think I worked hard until I saw your schedule.

R O S I E A couple of them, yes. I just work in a big boy's club, so sometimes it's as cliche as you imagine. They'd probably think I meant upstate New York, and ask where my summer house is. Just...a different way of hustling? I'm scared to ask.

BENI I hope they're nice to you. Are there any other women? I can usually manage with phone reminders and notes, or stuff written down. Things like studio time are more casual, things like interviews not so much. I'll take you to my studio sometime if you want.

R O S I E Yeah, more every year. There's a couple my level, a few higher. A lot more associates though, about half. Which has been nice to see. I've realized over time some things aren't as rigid as finance - my friend runs a clothing brand, which also is way more fast and loose. I'd like that though, yeah. I'm curious.

BENI That's good, the club should be shaken up. When are you going to take over as CEO? Too much structure is no fun for me, I think my creativity senses it and just disappears. But I have more to remember and do now, maybe I'll need an assistant eventually. Have you ever sang before?

R O S I E Haha, I think I like working with money more than working with all the politics that happen up there. I'll take an eventual VP title. Someone to organize your thoughts so you don't have to gives you more time to do what you want. God, no. Karaoke once or twice, and I can keep a beat, but have no singing skills to speak to. My sister's much better.

BENI VP Rosie, that suits you. With lots of assistants, one just for handling my calendar invites. I ask because everyone gets in the sound booth and wants to sing all of a sudden. But I like your voice, you never know, you might uncover a secret talent.
