R O S I E Her parents' relationship is complicated, as is her relationship with some of her siblings. A lot of money involved. It's not really my place to talk about it but she loves who she loves very dearly.

BENI Gotcha. I won't be nosy, just curious what flavor of complicated you meant.

R O S I E Family for her, at the moment. I guess for me too, on top of others. We all probably have different flavors of complicated.

BENI Oh yeah, tell me about all your flavors of complicatedness.

R O S I E That made it sound worse than it is, honestly. My dad left when I was young so grew up with just my mom and my siblings, but we're all close. My work addiction you know. Some fun self associations with worth and wealth. Therapy's great. Give me one, now.

BENI Well speaking of dads, I have a complicated relationship with mine. I guess my family has a long story too. My travels and work make permanence hard. The deeper I get in the industry, the more I see and the more things change.

R O S I E It's all glamorous until you're in it, isn't it? I understand that, but from a little different perspective, I guess.

BENI Different views from the inside vs the outside. As long as the original love and passion are there, that's all I care about. I used to worry that that would be ruined, making a hobby into a job.

R O S I E But so far so good? That's good to hear, then.

BENI I think I'm over most of the bumps by now. What about you, has all the magic worn off your field?

R O S I E I think if anyone expects finance to be magic, they're insane. But I still do like what I'm doing, long hours and all. Bonus checks don't hurt, either.

BENI You can say you love the money, it's ok. I don't mind it either, I didn't grow up this way.
