Aaron If I could I would. Specialty things, I don't need the whole hamster wheel of unnecessary stuff. I was good at math but they didn't like the way I could do it in my head, turned me off. I'm better through trial than theory.

SAMIRA You are a little Ghost Mode. I wish the education system was a little more nuanced like that. Trade, corporate...it's all important and people gravitate different ways or learn differently. But alas, there's a lot of things I wish to be better.

Aaron Do you believe in ghosts? You'd make a hell of a teacher. Or maybe a politician, turn things around that way. I'm done with the government but you can have a go at it.

SAMIRA Ghosts maybe not. Sprits I like to think are around though. Souls just keeping watch. Oh, no. The government starting not loving me after 2001, we'll let them run themselves into the ground.

Aaron I always thought ghosts were just pissed off spirits. I like the idea of souls better. Fine by me, I'm past drafting age.

SAMIRA Souls can be angry, too. We've always believed in reincarnation anyway, but I think the past life still remembers somewhere. Would you ever go back? Could you ever go back?

Aaron I hope we mingled in our past lives too. Jesus, reenlist? If I ever so much as mention that please 5150 me. I don't want to be a lifer, no way no how.

SAMIRA Where would you have wanted to meet? I wasn't sure how it worked. If they could just call you up one day and say 'ship out tomorrow'.

Aaron The 1920s. We could have been bandits together. No, they couldn't. Only while I was active. Yes I could reenlist but I have no desire. Promise.

SAMIRA I feel like I'd go back to Rome. Or Egypt, even. Got it. It's good to have you back for good, then.

Aaron I like the sound of that. I hope we were royals at some point. Can't get rid of me now.

SAMIRA Royals, bandits, star-crossed, soulmates...endless possibilities in those stars. Good. I don't plan to.

SAMIRA Many more to come, too. Googling best flowers for California yards, currently. Making a list. Wonder if Maa has the capacity to tend a garden. What do you think?

Aaron Wouldn't you know, I already pulled up the Farmer's Almanac. She's a young lady, I'm sure she's up to it. She was always good with plants and herbs indoors, I have vivid memories. If not, more excuse for me to come over and help.
