SAMIRA Unfortunately we are still stuck with him. Fortunately he’s been stuck on a set lately! Gosh…not sure if I can even remember. Years, at least. Well, that next stray will be very lucky. And hopefully have enough energy to keep up, next thing you know you’ll just be the K9 Run Club.

SAMIRA He is who he is, that has never wavered. Hmm. Currently dates stuffed with peanut butter and a piece of dark chocolate. But it’s summer, ice cream should be added back to the agenda. How do you feel? A new decade awaits.

Aaron Nothin if not consistent. That sounds nice too. Healthier for sure. Ukiah would still want a bite. A little existential dread here, some mysterious body pain there. Otherwise feels good, right. And being back for 3 years feels like something to celebrate too.

SAMIRA All the chewing might actually wear him out. Growing pains are a real, continual thing. It’s been that long already? Wow.

Aaron Some days I wake up feeling like a bowl of freshly poured rice crispies. Yeah it has. It's a trip. Feels like forever ago now.

SAMIRA Stretching is a simple wonder! And it feels alright, as time goes on?

Aaron I try, my little morning routine keeps growing. Yoga is surprisingly nice too. I think so. Does it feel like that long to you?

SAMIRA Great mental benefits also, look at you. No, it’s gone by very quickly. When you were gone each day felt like its own forever sometimes.

Aaron Aging comes with a lot of upkeep. Yeah, tell me about it. Happy to be collecting calendars here now though, LA's the place I've been in longest.

SAMIRA And we’re always a little more tired. Did you always want to come back to California? I sometimes wondered if any of the other states would pique your curiosity.

Aaron Did Ish text you fifty times about his single gray beard hair too? I think we both know why I wanted to and that I would. I liked some of the states, still willing to see others too. If things were different I'd probably fuck off to some place like Alaska or Montana, live off grid. You? Couldn't see yourself forever in NC?

SAMIRA Oh you mean the end of the world? No, it was idyllic but it felt correct to come back here for med school. I think I’d enjoy Colorado, honestly.
