Aaron Well you gotta at least act surprised when you hear things you already know. I'm sure he's plenty spoiled. Maybe he needs even more toys then. Oh you don't say, mine is in half at the moment and could use a skilled seamstress. Kidding. Some scrapes here and there, nothing major.

SAMIRA So crazy, but you'll never believe who the better actor is between us. You won't get it in a million years. He might be a lost cause, unfortunately. I have the will of a blade of grass, very bendable. You'd definitely not be typing if it was. Protective gear does exist for a reason!! Especially in shop class, sheesh.

Aaron Damn Sami, you are somethin else. So all I have to do is flash some puppydog eyes? Noted. I'm usually good. Definitely always safe around the teens. Leading by example and whatnot.

SAMIRA Haha, it’s honestly just Ish’s world and we are his characters. I’ll toss a dog toy your way if I see them. Would you prefer the caterpillar or the goldfish? They’re all probably daredevils at heart if they’re in those classes. I hope I never see them in a professional capacity!

Aaron You just crack me up is all, forgot how quick you can be. I like it, still do. Probably the goldfish. What's funny is it's the girls who take off once you give them tools. I try to keep them out of the hospital and police station.

SAMIRA Still got it, then ;) Not an insect fan? Caterpillars are very specific, to be fair. Always this inherent motivation to prove we’re tough. Success so far? Know there’s some difficult roads.

Aaron Gonna be my downfall. Better food option and better pet. Remember those caterpillars we fed in fifth grade til they cocooned up and became butterflies? Oh recruiting office, that's another place I try to keep them out of. It's been good, had some leave for school and new families.

SAMIRA Still got that, too. They also are a strange texture. I did like the chrysalis process though, yes. Evolution is a wild, intriguing thing. That seems pretty positive, then. It's funny how I thought all my teachers were old when I was younger and they were probably in their like, mid-twenties. Navigating life as much as we were!

Aaron Gotta be a little proud of that one. Drunk with power, maybe. Too many legs. That memory just came to me, weirdest thing. Oh man, I probably had that cool teacher bit down too without even realizin. Had them calling me Mr Aaron. The blind leading the blind.

SAMIRA No, no. Just jonesing for a slushie. It's weird that your brain keeps those things but you don't always know or remember until you just...do. It really is a mystery, but that's an entire next level of school and studying I didn't have enough curiosity for. Just appreciation. What they don't know won't hurt them? Actually that doesn't really work in this case...

Aaron When's a good time to leave, maybe in an hour or two? And how more memories are tied to your sense of smell? I'm curious and fascinated too but I'll leave it to the really smart people. Brains lookin at themselves. I can talk tools, that's no problem. Advice I'm more careful about. They thought I'm all grown up, with kids and a wife and the whole nine years.

SAMIRA An hour's perfect, enough to get from PJs to presentable. Or music, even. All your senses just trigger different things. Even I have to leave it to different people - they can come to be if they need to be sewn up. I thought for a long time I'd be married at like, 24. We're still kids then too, is what I've realized.

Aaron I'm sure we'll find reason for a PJs day in the future. I learned somethin in therapy. The good opposite to a trigger, they call them glimmers. Could've been Mrs. Hastings huh? I don't know how our parents did all this in their early twenties.

SAMIRA I've still yet to try all those childhood cereals in the grocery store aisles. Might have to do a taste testing day sometime. Like a glimmer of hope? Was a different world back then. Lower prices, more accessibility. I think we're also realizing that time is extending for most of us, too. Life is a longer space to live.

Aaron That can be arranged. I still get a hankering for Trix every once in a while. Who thought giving kids a bowl of sugar first thing was a good idea? Maybe that’s where it’s from, yeah.  We could've been married at 19 or 20.
