L I L Y Hmm...for me it's always helped. My entire first album I wrote in this hometown diner after I found out my ex (the jail one, lol), cheated on me. Bitter, Sweet it's obviously involved too - only I get to profit off my own pain though, so they'd never get credit necessarily. Fun fact one of the songs on the new album I actually had done, had someone hear it through and give it the OK, then changed most of the lyrics after because I didn't want them knowing it was about them originally.

S Y L V I E I can't imagine giving some arsehole the satisfaction of knowing he had that much of a place in my psyche, I've blocked and deleted every ex I've got. So props to you for being able to channel it into something meaningful.

L I L Y It always gives me a voice in the ring, at least. I write about my life anyway, falling in and out of love is always stable material! I think if people had context about something else that happened, the new album would be more surprising.
