name Molly Seraphina Ferguson ________________________________________ Molly Seraphine Ferguson (born August 30th, 1993) is hailing from Berkely Lake, Georgia. Originally born in Berlin, Germany, Molly was adopted by Mitchell and Bethany Ferguson at the age of 3. Her father, the junior pastor at Passion City Church, raised her in the Christian faith. Her mother, Bethany, was a senator for the state for as long as Molly could remember. Growing up, Molly developed a passion for music. She learned to play the guitar at age 13, and soon picked up the piano, and the drums. Recently, Molly learned how to play the banjo and the ukulele. After graduating from high school in the top 10% and getting accepted to Berklee College of Music, Molly decided to forfeit her acceptance to take some time to get her music career started. Molly's broken out of the mold of the "typical preacher's daughter" figure and has become her own person: independent, feisty, creative, and dedicated. She's spent the last few years traveling between Nashville, Chicago, New York City, LA, and Atlanta. Molly is a self-described free spirit, and is currently located in Nashville, Tennessee. However, Molly is currently on a five month break from the city in New York City to find more connections. She is in the studio working, and is negotiating on a record deal with Columbia Records. how long have you been doing entertainment? what got you interested in it? Professionally, I've not been doing this for very long. I've been singing, writing, and learning my entire life though. I began learning the guitar at age 12, and self-taught myself the piano, and the drums, simultaneously. I started song-writing around the same time I started learning the guitar. My earlier stuff was country-based, as I grew up in Georgia. Now, my sound is a bit of country, a lot of rock, and a whole lot of soul. I've got a different sound, and I'm hoping this record deal with Columbia goes through soon, because I couldn't see myself doing anything else! have you always lived in new york city? have you ever seen yourself living elsewhere? No. I've lived in Berkeley Lake, Georgia for the past 17 years. I was born in Berlin, Germany, but I was adopted at the age of three by my parents. Currently, I'm based in Nashville, but I'm on a five month break in New York City to make some negotiations, and figure things out. what inspires your everyday life? Music, friends, family, God. if you had to eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be? My mother's macaroni and cheese. Hands down. where do you see yourself in ten years? professionally and personally? Hopefully I'll be in Nashville still, or New York City..recording music, writing music. You know, the whole deal! Personally? Maybe married, settled down, I don't know! We'll just have to see. what do you love most about georgia? Home. I think I love it mostly because it's home to me. It housed my family, my friends, and housed a series of firsts. First love, first time, first kiss, first boyfriend, first taste of alcohol, first time I got high, first time I met Luke Bryan, first heartbreak....first everything. I've had a lot of struggles in my life, and they've all happened in Georgia. I give it real shit sometimes, but it's my home and I couldn't be more proud to be a Georgia peach. Seriously, it's fucking amazing. If you have the chance to go, go. Please. describe yourself in 5 words Dynamic, exuberant, free-spirit, joyful, charismatic. what are three things you couldn't live without Family, guitar, pen/paper. where would we find you on the weekend, or on your day off? If I'm in Nashville - Loveless Barn, Bluebird Cafe, Whiskey Kitchen, the art gallery. If I'm in NYC - The Met, Starbucks, Fifth Avenue, seeing a broadway show. what have you been listening to recently? The Slowdown. The Slowdown. THE SLOWDOWN. who is your #1 role model, dead or alive? Miranda Lambert. I'm not gonna be the girl saying my mother's my role model. I mean, she is, because she's my mother and I've learned a lot. But Miranda. Miranda. Miranda!!!!! She defied the odds and defied the odds of typical Country female artist. She's badass. She doesn't care what she looks like. She makes risky choices, and I love her for that. If there's anyone I want to be when I grow up, it'd be her. Hands fucking down. ________________________________________ your name Karen |
