...................................................... Q U E S T I O N N A I R E
NAME ◦ Damian Robert Elmore.
DO YOU HAVE A NICKNAME AND WHERE DID IT COME FROM? ◦ Elmo... unimaginatively, I'm part of the Sesame Street generation. My mom calls me the Omen.
WHAT IS THE NEXT BIG CITY TO YOU AND HOW FAR IS IT? ◦ Los Angeles, it's not far.
DO YOU HAVE A VALID U.S. PASSPORT? ◦ I bleed red white and blue Yeah.
HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT OUR SEARCH? ◦ I'm a big fan of the show.
HAVE YOU EVER APPLIED FOR THE SHOW BEFORE? ◦ No, always wanted to though!
OCCUPATION ◦ Publisher, Muse Magazine.
ANNUAL SALARY ◦ it's six figures. I'm not trying to be a douche, I just honestly don't know.
WHAT DID YOU STUDY AND WHICH DEGREE(S) DID YOU EARN? ◦ Journalism, I got a bachelors.
WHERE WERE YOU BORN? ◦ Los Angeles, CA.
WHERE DID YOU GROW UP? ◦ Newport Beach, CA.
DO YOU HAVE SIBLINGS? HOW OLD ARE THEY? ◦ Two - my older sister is thirty, my younger brother is twenty-two.
DO YOU DRINK ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES? ◦ Is the Pope Catholic?
WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE DRINK? ◦ I'll drink anything. Bacon infused bourbon is probably what making out with Jesus would taste like.
HAVE YOU EVER BEEN MARRIED OR ENGAGED? ◦ Nope.
ARE YOU GENUINELY LOOKING TO GET MARRIED AND WHY? ◦ Of course, why else would I be applying? My parents have been happily married for decades, and I've always wanted that for myself. Trouble is that I've struggled meeting people who are into me for me and not my hedge fund.
WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO FIND A SPOUSE ON OUR TV SHOW? ◦ It seems to me like you guys really know how to pick them - with all those girls there for me, how could I fail to find a partner? It's like accelerated reality.
PLEASE DESCRIBE YOUR IDEAL MATE IN TERMS OF PHYSICAL ATTRACTION AND IN TERMS OF PERSONALITY ATTRACTION. WHAT'S MOST IMPORTANT WHEN FIRST MEETING SOMEONE, PHYSICAL OR PERSONALITY ATTRACTION? ◦ She's gotta be sweet, first and foremost. That's what's most important. I'm an old fashioned kind of guy and I like to treat a girl right, and it's important to me that she has those same traditional values. It has to be said that I love a blonde, but redheads really get me weak at the knees.
HOW MANY SERIOUS RELATIONSHIPS HAVE YOU BEEN IN AND HOW LONG WERE THEY? ◦ I've only really been in one serious relationship, and that was from the age of twenty to twenty-five... so a good five years. Probably the best years of my life.
WHAT HAPPENED TO END THOSE RELATIONSHIPS? ◦ We worked together. As anyone in a family business will tell you, working and living together takes a hell of a lot of effort... unfortunately it got the better of us. We still enjoy a healthy working relationship though, Muse is our baby and we try to share custody.
LIST THREE ADJECTIVES THAT WOULD SURPRISE PEOPLE ABOUT YOU. ◦ Smart, sensitive, romantic.
WHAT ACCOMPLISHMENT ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF? ◦ growing Muse into the strong digital brand it is now.
WHAT HAVE YOU NOT FOUND IN A RELATIONSHIP THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO FIND? ◦ Someone I don't have to try with... someone who makes me the best version of myself by being the best version of themselves.
DO YOU THINK YOU'RE READY FOR MARRIAGE? IF SO WHY - OR WHY NOT? ◦ Hell yeah I'm ready! Commitment isn't something I struggle with... I feel like I've got every part of my life together, and this is the final piece.
WHY WOULD GIRLS THINK YOU'RE AN ELIGIBLE BACHELOR? ◦ What a question... I'm heir to a publishing empire, but ambitious enough to have worked at launching and sustaining my own brand. I'm old fashioned and I believe that no man can achieve greatness without a better woman by his side. I'm genuinely in this for the long haul and when I commit to something I give it my all, no excuses, no holding back.

C L E O P A T R A D I A Z
Unlike what you see on TV, I'm not big on talking about my feelings. I'm not big on having feelings. I've had to talk about previous relationships as part of being on the show, and here's an exclusive confession for you: Cleo's the only one. I had high school girlfriends and I've had flings, but Cleo is the only serious relationship I've ever had. So when I talk about things I've been through with girls before, that's the truth, it's just Cleo.
We were together for years. Relationships aren't something that appeal to me (haha) but with her it was different, we sorta fell into it bringing the magazine to life and it got serious without me realizing. That makes it sound like I didn't want it to, I obviously did, I would have called it off if I didn't. But at first I did sorta play it like I didn't know we were serious, given that it wasn't something we ever directly acknowledged.
Then I got drunk and was pictured with some other girl, and she immediately called it off. No bullshit, no drama, just done. We'd be in the office together and she'd talk to me like a colleague-- sometimes even like I was her boss. It killed me. That was a week, and by the end of it I was begging her to be mine. Officially. Changed my Facebook status and everything.
Cleo is nothing like any other girl I knew, and any other girl I've met since. She's the polar opposite of a Bachelorette, she's not got a fake bone in her body. I never said it but I was crazy about her... fuck, I still can't say it. How is it so easy to say it to Barbies in front of a camera crew but I can't even retrospectively say it now? Those three words, that's how I felt. You know the ones. Really, this is pathetic-- I just-- she's-- I... I loved her. It never occurred to me that it wouldn't be forever.

"That dude on TV is not my brother. I mean, he looks like him, he's got the same name, same voice, whatever. But he bears no similarity to the Damian I know at all. I'm actually one of the few people who knew he was going on the show, and he told me that he was gonna play it the same old himbo way as everyone else... but Jesus, who knew he'd be such a convincing dumbass?
This is exactly the sort of shit Damian pulls though. Maybe 'cause he's the middle child, he's always done stuff for attention. That makes him sound like such a freak! He doesn't sit around begging for attention, he's not that bad. But he likes surprising people, and he's basically allergic to predictability. That terminal boredom is a rich boy curse that only witnessing his bullshit has stopped me from falling prey to. Still, when he told me he was going on the show I was stoked for him - who wouldn't want a room full of total worldies fighting over them?! But I have no idea what his endgame is. He's told me a thousand times that marriage is bullshit and I don't think he's changing his mind on that front... he probably doesn't know what he's doing. Like I said, boredom is the thing that motivates 99% of his decisions.
Damian on TV is the kind of guy real Damian hates. Always going on about traditional values and family... has anyone read his magazine? There's nothing traditional about it! A quick browse of his Wikipedia page will tell you that he's publicly dissed our dad a thousand times, despite him being his primary financial backer. Look, I'm not an idiot, I know reality TV is anything but realistic. But they might as well have hired an actor and called him Damian Elmore for all the difference it makes.
Real Damian is a commitmentphobe who hates marriage and has only had one serious girlfriend (rather than thirty at once). Real Damian is emotionally manipulative and uses charisma to get what he wants, where TV Damian is a nice guy who struggles to find the one because he's just so painfully rich. Damian loves money! He's that guy in the VIP area running up bills that could pay your rent for a year. He's lazy and selfish and unapologetic about both those things... to be honest, I don't know whether TV Damian is really so bad. It'd be good if a little bit of the act sticked."
