Is murder a feeling?
I'm wondering this as I sit in my Uber. I've been taking the subway all week as a sort of experiment.. not that I haven't taken the Subway before, don't think I'm like that. I just haven't taken it all summer because of this job. You know, commuting via transit takes an extra forty minutes. You also have to deal with smelling armpit juice and people touching you. You get to sleep in by taking an Uber, but that's one of the few luxuries. My ass isn't getting squeezed but I'm having to listen to this Bruno Mars song for the first of seven times today.
Is murder a feeling? I wonder it again as I'm pressed against the wall of the elevator. It's too full and people keep piling in. Why? Common sense? Stop it.
Is murder a feeling? Why is this a job? Where are the robots? Can't you send a drone for coffee? Do you want to sit under your desk and let me blow you, daddy? Wife who?
Murder is a feeling. One hundred idiots into the day and my mind is going numb. Idiot #101 is being treated like a doormat by idiot #102.
anna de witte on her daughter...
Scarlett is saucy, I guess that would be the best way to describe her. I don't know where she gets it, but she always has been fairly difficult.. though it especially flared when she was a teenager and her father transitioned, I made sure to send her to therapy at that time.
I remember when Scarlett was six and we were hosting Thanksgiving. As silly as it was, she found out that her cousin was afraid of frogs. She made sure to lead her cousin down to the river at the back of the house and show her the frogs. Then she stuck a frog in her pocket and released it at the dinner table. Scarlett is an instigator. She pinpoints wants, desires, weaknesses and fears. She was an impossible child to raise.
But she's smart. She's a straight A student and doesn't have to try. Scarlett would choose a party over studying, but somehow she would end up in the top of her class. It was so suspicious that her teachers often accused her of cheating - which she loved, because Scarlett loves being challenged as much as she loves challenging.
I love my daughter. As selfish, sassy, and pain-in-the-ass difficult as she is, there are fragments of gentleness, empathy, and generosity.
"Scarlett De Witte is the worst. She's this short, manipulative, spoiled girl who's only here because her uncle co-owns the firm. I had to babysit her one day and holy fuck, she's useless. All she did was eat and joke around.. she was almost as bad as Aisha Van Buren. In between these rich girl interns, there's actually some decent kids. It seems Scarlett and Aisha just treat this as a vacation to eventually put on their resumes." - Kyle MacMiller
"I feel pretty bad for Archer, he's basically been downgraded to babysitter. He's constantly having to amuse Scarlett's antics because she's the boss' niece, which distracts him from his actual job. It kind of shows where the company's values are.." Cecilia Huron
"I found this note that Scarlett left Archer.. they're totally fucking. Have you seen the way they look at each other?" - Ryan Belisle
"It's not just that I want to fuck him.. I've got this giant, too gross to talk about crush on him." - Scarlett De Witte
