"How did Cassius McCarthy end up with a daughter as cool as Athena? When he first named her that I thought it was stupid, but my god, she's lived up to the lofty name. There's plenty of nepotism in my office but Thea did a lot to undo the complaints, since she was the best intern we ever had. The hardest thing about good employees is how hard it is to get them to stay, but honestly, I wouldn't want to step in her way. She deserves all the success she's had, and more. She's a force of nature.
I'm particularly biased in her favor because I think she's such a good influence on Aisha. As strong willed, funny and clever as I find the show to be, was I totally happy with my baby girl making an appearance, dishing the dirt on her sexual history? You know, yes, actually, I was. The premise of the podcast horrified me almost as much as it horrified my little brother, but listening to it, it's hard not to be proud of her. She's doing a lot to even the playing field, and if that makes us uncomfortable, hey, she's probably doing something right. I adore her. She's a remarkable young woman and I'd have her back at the firm any day."

Does anyone listen to the podcast Screwed? I've been binging watching it and just finished the episode with Aisha Van Buren, called 'So your Type is Boy Band'. I know Aisha's dated/is dating Joe McCarthy from Cat's Cradle, but do you think the host Athena is too? Some points that back this: she makes a point about sweet blow-jobs being related to the fact that Canadian's love maple syrup – both Taylor and Isaac are Canadian. She mentions how good guitarists are with their hands – Isaac plays guitar. She mentions how bad musicans are at keeping faithful – this could reference Isaac and Taylor's past relationships. She mentions that it'd be hard to turn down a Victoria's Secret model – both Taylor and Isaac have dated Victoria's Secret models.
I know it's kind of a comedic podcast and she could just genuinely be joking about it... but she also has guys she's fucked/dated guest star, so it wouldn't be out of the norm for her to talk about. I think she's definitely fucked either Taylor and Isaac... leaning toward Taylor because Isaac spends no time between girlfriends. But, Taylor doesn't play guitar.
What do you think?
gifts from my parents
Piper: intuitiveness, calmness, drive, creativity, awkwardness, humbleness, generosity, sympathy, maternal, busy, strong, curiousity.
Cassius: sense of humor, drive, charm, clumsiness, sense of adventure, daring, playfulness, out-spoken, extreme.
Together. Young teenage parents raise strong willed and hardworking daughter. A daughter that was always encouraged to talk about her experiences and what was important to her, thus is passionate about making sure voices are heart. A daughter that was brought to charity events, to help raise money and spend time with those who needed it most. A daughter who is loud and brass, and always speaks what she believes in. A daughter raised with comedy, who knows that laughter heals most wounds and that play is just as important as work. A daughter who was raised to be open, accept experience and be curious about what the world has to offer.
I'm living in a dream world and I feel incredibly fucking lucky about it. I can't say that it was hard work alone, it was definitely that, my roots and a little luck to shine it off. When Audrey and I started Screwed, we never thought it would be as big as it has become. It was something we thought was fun, but it was something we thought was important. People called us crazy and whores. The general consensus was that we were creating something that would ruin our careers. How wrong were they? Talking to ex-whatevers and people who create waves, it's opened so many fucking doors.
It feels weird to be young and to have success. It feels really weird to be genuinely happy and content (but also thirsty) about work. With Screwed, we were able to collaborate with amazing people and build lasting relationships with them. It's definitely work, but it's also overlapped into my personal life. I feel like while we're making our own careers, we've helped so many gain the recognition they deserve.
