I know I've always been a bit boring for you, but I think there's something to be said about home. Not necessarily how I thought, like when I was convinced I needed to be home in Tennessee, but somewhere to plant your own roots on some solid foundation. I'm sorry, I missed that bit of your last message. It's complicated, but you don't make me unhappy, and I know that's never been your intention. If you want me to explain I will, but we're going on glass three here and things might start getting too deep.

You've never been boring for me. I used to think having that home base just meant you were tied down, but I've realized you've got responsibilities no matter where you go. Being rootless has more disadvantages than I thought. I'm on beer number 4 and I'm trying to take my mind off how things are here at the moment - please explain.

There was nothing that bored you more than the idea of you and me and a family in Nashville. Spare me. I'm glad that's where you're at with your thought process now though, I can't even imagine how happy your mom is. Everything is what you said, it's everything I wanted, and more to be honest.. so much more. Of course some days I hate Tim and some he hates me, and we're tired and Theo can be a bit of a nightmare at times. But overall, I'm happy, and then I'll hear a song that reminds me of you or I'll get lost in my own thoughts and think of you and suddenly I feel like I got what I wanted but not how I wanted it and like I said.. that's spoiled. But I'm not happy when I remember you exist.

I don't know how long I'll stay, don't mention any of this to her. That's normal, I hate Tim too, he's a hateable guy. But maybe you should keep trying to forget me in that case.

Appreciated, she's pretty close to disowning me as it is so I can't let her down again. How's that no contact working out for ya?
It wasn't the third time I'd talked about it, it was the fourth. I was sat next to this really nice lady on the plane home, she was talking about her kids and how her eldest was pregnant. We were chatting for ages and she finally asked me if I had kids, and I found myself just saying yes. Then she wanted to see photos so I showed her the ones I had on my phone and she obviously said he was the cutest thing ever, and that I must be so proud. And I'm just there nodding, saying I am, saying he's the best. I'm sorry, it feels really invasive now. I don't know why I did it.
