STASSI ugh that sounds like such a weak excuse, do they think i'm really rude? it's okay, i've been here before so it's familiar. therapy is exhausting and some of these girls are a lot but i mostly sleep and craft and think.

PAT No, they think you were sick. My mom’s sending me home with a gallon of ginger chicken soup and a card. Familiar can be nice, right? And routine, you said that before. Want my Thanksgiving report?

STASSI that's so sweet omg, i want to meet her. it's fine. yes! tell me everything.

PAT You will. Alright. It’s new for me so just trying my best. And all was to be expected. My dad panicked the girls when he deep fried a turkey, played some neighborhood football, mom started fucking with the oven at 5am. Edie finally looks pregnant, I took a nap, Charlie’s adopted this psychotic ginger cat who likes to climb her curtains back home, Benny finally let us try that cranberry pie he kept talking about but was complaining the whole time that he burnt the crust a little bit. We all got a little drunk off this cherry whiskey. So all in all everyone’s doing alright.

STASSI so you aren't breaking up with me? oh my heart hurts, i wish i was there so much. does edie know if it's a boy or a girl? was the cranberry pie everything you thought it would be? did charlie not know that ginger cats are famously crazy?

PAT What?

PAT No, I’m not. Are you, with me?

STASSI no of course not, but you're not crazy.

PAT You gotta stop counting me out with the hard stuff, Stas. I knew that when I committed to you. Was it hard to see you like that? Yeah, it was. But more in a sense that I felt half like I caused it and half that I didn’t know how to help you and I hated that.

STASSI you're the best thing in my life and i'm really scared of losing that. how could you have caused it??

PAT I’m still here, promise. The love you thing. You went south pretty fast after that.

PAT I don’t think it helped.

STASSI doesn't matter, it's my responsibility to manage my coping mechanisms and i have to take accountability for my own health.
